How to Use HD Online Player with Ableton Live 9 Suite on Windows 32-bit

Once you have downloaded and installed both software, follow these steps to use them together:


  • Launch HD Online Player and select the media file you want to play or record. You can either enter the URL of the online source, or browse your local files.



  • Click on the "Settings" icon at the top right corner of the HD Online Player window. Under the "Audio" tab, select "ASIO" as the audio driver, and "Ableton Live ASIO Driver" as the device. Under the "Video" tab, select "DirectShow" as the video driver, and "Ableton Live Video Engine" as the device. Click "OK" to save the settings.



  • Launch Ableton Live 9 Suite and create a new project. In the "Preferences" menu, go to the "Audio" tab and make sure that "Ableton Live ASIO Driver" is selected as the audio input and output device. In the "Video" tab, make sure that "Ableton Live Video Engine" is selected as the video input and output device.



  • In Ableton Live's Session View, create two new audio tracks and one new video track. On the first audio track, click on the "Input Type" chooser and select "External In". On the second audio track, click on the "Input Type" chooser and select "Resampling". On the video track, click on the "Input Type" chooser and select "External In".



  • Arm both audio tracks and the video track for recording by clicking on their respective record buttons. Make sure that the monitor buttons are set to "In".



  • Go back to HD Online Player and click on the "Play" button to start playing or recording your media file. You should see and hear it in Ableton Live's Session View.



  • To record your media file in Ableton Live, click on the global record button at the top of the Session View. You can also use Push, if you have one, to control Ableton Live's transport functions.



  • When you are done recording, click on the global stop button in Ableton Live or Push. You can then edit your recorded clips in Ableton Live's Arrangement View or Session View.
